i was waiting for the bus
i couldnt hop on the first bus coz it was already jam-packed
i popped open my umbrella coz i didnt wanna get soaking wet coz the drizzle looked like it'll turn into a heavy downpour
i was startled when suddenly the petite chinese girl in front of me hopped under my umbrella
she asked if she could share the shade
i just nodded okay since she was already beside me
i found out later she wasnt chinese
she was vietnamese
she started making small talks
she asked me why is it she sees some women in this country wears like i do, while others dont
i thought she was asking about my baju kurung, at first
i answered owh, this is our traditional costume
i didnt know she was vietnamese at the time
i re-thought again why she would ask me that question
i then remembered she must be asking abt my head scarf
i asked her owh you mean my head scarf?
she said yes
i said this is actually a Muslim costume and it depends on the person whether or not they wish to wear it
i didnt delve deeper into the subject, though
she started talking about how nice it is living here yada yada yada
i could only think, we're always seeing the grass greener at the other side
she said i should go visit her country coz they have a lot to offer
i replied yeah, would sure love to go there someday (think, angelina's lara croft)
i said owh my bus is here
she said thanks for sharing the umbrella
we said goodbye without even knowing each other's name (who knows? we might meet again soon)
