just completed a team-building activity with me colleagues (soon-2-b-exes) @ The Eagle Ranch, Port Dickson
tiring...but fun
been a while since we had an outing & grouping that doesn't concern work like that
and it really was a release from work-related stress
this time, instead of putting pressure on our brain muscles, we challenged our body all over
we started off from office at around 8am & reached there approx 10am..
we were behind schedule from the start till the end heh
upon arrival, we werent show to our room but went straight to the meeting room to form ourselves into groups..as usual, we had brainstorming for our group
from there, our physical labour started
first, there was the 20-obstacle courses
the pole that we had to hang on to reach the other side, with a puddle of mud beneath was really scary
it's just like how u feel when u wanna start rapelling...u know, when the instructor told u to lie down & let the rope hold you..well, that's the same feeling u get trying to psyche urself into jumping & reaching the pole
it's all about mastering your fear...if u're not scared, it isnt that hard, actually.u should really trust ur body's judgment coz it knows just when to grab the pole & how much momentum u need to jump
the 8' wall was rather easy coz there were enough strong men in our team to help us climb over :)
the most challenging for me was the monkey bar...
and boy, was i proud of myself that day
i managed to cross over the monkey bar! without any help!!! well, i did get some help on the 1st pole coz i was too short to reach it *lol* but once i was hanging there, i was really surprised to find that i had the strength to hold & swing myself towards the end! woohoo!
then, we had the treasure hunt, which i wont be blogging here coz it was B.O.R.I.N.G!
after dinner (BBQ by the poolside where i indulged in BBQed lamb & prawns), armed with 2 compasses & 1 torchlight, our combined team of 11 were sent into the dark woods to find 2 checkpoints
hurmmm...a few unhealthy thoughts came to mind
& in the morning, over breakfast, just as i thought, a few people came up with some scary story
but I slept like a baby that night..too tired, i guess
plus my room was this really comfy paddock-like room with full amenities...quite a spacious one, too
the next morning was the most fun part
we built ourselves a raft, switched it between the other two teams & raced towards our flags in the sea on the rafts! to make the adventure more real, it rained! *lol* but it's nothing like sailing on the Black Pearl with Jack Sparrow, though *lol*
all in all....it really was great fun
food was good
room was comfy
& the company was merry!
